This week, my mom and I made our airline reservations for our trip to Italy in July. We'd dawdled so long in deciding when we would go that the price was outrageous, but because last year was such a nightmare for the whole family, her especially, we've decided to splurge on ourselves and push forward with this once in a lifetime trip.
This afternoon, I ducked into Borders and found a great book on daytrips through Italy. I don't have the title in front of me (it's already upstairs on my nightstand), but I'll post it in a future entry. I'm hoping that we'll see a few things that I haven't seen before--this will be my third trip--and move beyond the Rome-Florence-Venice structure that has characterized by last two visits. If anyone out there is reading this early enough in the planning stage, I'd love to hear your suggestions.
